What is a "Christian" book?

There is bound to be some controversy whenever a list is created that includes some and excludes others. Our database of Christian authors and books is meant to be a helpful resource for Christian schools that are interested in the availability of Christian literature for their AR programs. Librarians should use this resource as they do all others; tempered with their own judgement.

How does a book make it into our Christian database? We use the following criteria to make our selections:

• The book is published by a Christian publisher
• The author is a well-known Christian, such as C.S. Lewis
• There is evidence that an author is Christian, such as a biographical reference
• The book has a Christian theme, as evidenced by the Library of Congress cataloging or our online community's recommendation
